Johnson City Transit System
Johnson City Transit provides Mass Transit and School Transportation services to our citizens.
School Transportation provides safe, reliable and efficient transportation school-age children to and from their designated school with route service and curb-to-curb service for special needs students. Approximately 100 routes are operated in the mornings and afternoons.
Mass Transit operates fixed-route and demand services, which include paratransit services for ADA certified individuals with disabilities, Job Access, and various demand-response call-in services. JCT provides approximately 2,000 passenger trips per day. JCT operations are centered around the Transit Center at 137 W. Market St., which serves not only as a transfer point for JCT riders, but for riders of Greyhound, local taxi companies, and The Connection service provided by NET Trans.
Mass Transit is available Monday-Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturday 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Buses do not operate on Sundays, New Year's Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.
